SATURDAY BRIDGEPORT MOTORSPORT PARK RECAP
36 cars on hand for the Bruce Ward Memorial paying $2500.00 to the winner of the 35 lap event. Brandon and team had made some changes to the D&R 602 crate car for this event. In hot laps Brandon felt pretty good with the changes. Some more changes were made for the heat and Brandon would line up 3rd for the qualifying event with 3 going to the redraw and the top 5 to the feature. On the start the outside lane was quicker and he would drop to 4th. A lap 2 yellow saw him restart 4th and grab the 3rd spot and run in that spot till the lap 8 event took the checkered. Onto the redraw Brandon would draw 10 out of the 12 available spots. On the initial start he was 3 wide on the outside and would get squeezed up into the backstretch wall and fall to 12th. the yellow would come out on lap 2, he would restart 12th and grab 11th on lap 2 and then the 10th spot on lap 3. His pursuit of the front was beginning and on lap 4 he would take the 9th spot and lap 7 he was up to 8th. A restart saw him grab 7th on lap 10 and run there till lap 14 yeallow. On the restart something didn't feel right to Brandon he would drop to 9th and the next go around he would pull off the backstretch and into the infield with a mechanical issue. Not the finish the team and driver was hoping for but it is part of the game and Brandon was happy with how the car felt with the changes made. With this event concluded Brandon and team are calling it a year. 1st and foremost none of this would be possible without the crew and sponsors. We thank each and everyone of you.
